Happy holidays ladies and gents! Laura is up to her eyeballs (her words) in preparations for the coming holiday, so I (Nate) have been asked to do a post in her absence. And what a post it is. Without further ado, here are S's favorite Christmas songs, in no particular order, chosen by S himself.
First up, Captain and Tennille with "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas".
Colloquially known around our house as "the hippo song", S loves this track because, as he pointed out to us, "Santa doesn't have any hippos." So true.
Next, we have Nick and Rick Gadler's rendition of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".
S's take: "It sounds like Cookie Monster is singing!"
The Temptations - "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
This is my favorite version of this song, and S agrees. He particularly loves to sing along to the coda: "Hey Rudolph! Come on and drive my sleigh!" Which is just as cute as it sounds.
Lastly, Woody Phillips with "Jingle Bells"
When S listens to this song, he is completely silent and stares at the speakers. Something about the timbre of the instruments, I suppose. This song is from A Toolbox Christmas, a collection of yuletide classics played exclusively with work tools. When asked why he likes it, S simply responded, "the instruments".
